Jyothi, a student from Vignan School, was part of our Tech Her Forward program with a quiet determination and a clear sense of what she wanted for her future.
Coming from a working-class family, Jyothi always had a strong desire to learn computers. However, financial constraints meant she could not enroll in a computer institute, which often left her feeling disappointed. When she learned that Tech Her Forward had been introduced in her school, she felt deeply grateful. It was the opportunity she had been waiting for.
Jyothi attended the sessions regularly and actively participated in every class. She maintained a dedicated notebook, carefully documenting each lesson — a reflection of her commitment and seriousness toward learning.
Recently, Jyothi appeared for the entrance examination to secure admission into an Andhra Pradesh Residential Junior College — a highly competitive process. She was selected and chose the group she had always aspired to pursue: Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry.
Her journey highlights the impact of access. When financial barriers are reduced and opportunities are brought into schools, girls like Jyothi not only participate — they excel.
From Vignan School alone, 13 Tech Her Forward participants have chosen the Science stream in 12th grade this year — a powerful indicator of growing confidence and aspiration among young girls.
